Rick, who leads the Litigation Support Team and is a senior strategist, met Dan McGinn when he was Assistant General Counsel of Texaco, Inc., where he managed the international oil company's Employment and Environmental Law Practices. Prior to that, he served as Vice President and General Counsel of Bridgestone (U.S.A.), Inc. and was a partner at the law firm of Squire, Sanders & Dempsey. A member of the bars of Tennessee, the District of Columbia, and Virginia, he brings a legal and client's perspective to crisis communications issues. Rick received his J.D. cum laude from the University of Michigan Law School, where he was a member of the Editorial Board of The Michigan Law Review, and received his B.A. magna cum laude from Duke University.
Roddy directs TMG's Technology team and provides strategic counsel to the firm's top clients on their high profile conflict and crisis issues. He has twenty years of experience in public relations and issues management, including nearly a decade on Capitol Hill, where he worked on Banking and Appropriations Committee assignments. Later, as a Presidential appointee, he served as the Press Secretary to NASA's Administrator. His term there included many memorable international events, such as the launch of John Glenn's Return to Flight and the decision whether to continue an American presence aboard the Mir. For the last seven years, Roddy has counseled a number of Fortune 100 companies through crisis and conflict situations. He has enjoyed managing highly charged issues across a range of industries, including open source technologies, security software, interactive media and biotechnology - sometimes for long stints, before the European Commission, in Southeast Asia and throughout the United States. Roddy combines his media background, new media interests and Mexican heritage to advise clients who seek to understand and connect with a variety of audiences. He is a graduate of the University of Maryland, College Park, with a B.A. in Government and Politics and a minor in Spanish.
Theresa began her career on Capitol Hill and has worked with Dan McGinn for over 15 years, since he first went into business for himself. At TMG, she manages the firm's administrative department and its finances. Theresa earned TMG Employee of the Year Award in both 1998 and 2002 — the only two-time winner.
Elizabeth (Libby) Keefer is a Senior Vice President at TMG Strategies and brings strong experience in governmental and international affairs as well as intellectual property and trade issues to our clients. Prior to joining TMG, Libby served as General Counsel to Columbia University, including the legal oversight of its intellectual property portfolio. Libby has also served as General Counsel at Teledyne and as a partner in the international law firm of Hughes, Hubbard & Reed. In the public sector, Libby began her legal career as an antitrust lawyer for the Federal Trade Commi ssion. She also served as special adviser to the Legal Adviser and Assistant Legal Adviser for Near East and Southeast Asian Affairs at the State Department as well as Deputy Undersecretary of the United States Air Force for International Affairs. Libby earned a B.A. in Political Science from Barnard College and her J.D. from George Washington University in 1977.
Outside the office, Libby serves on the Board of the Women's Commission for Women Refugee and Children, an advocacy group that works to improve the lives and defend the rights of refugee and internally displaced women and children.
